Making PHOTO MONTAGE(David Hockney)..FineART or a PHOTOEssay of Chinatown ..READ

You will choose a scene use one lens setting and sync your self as you shoot various parts overlapping them.  Skip a few frames and move on to a new location and repeat  MAKE SURE YOU SHOOT SMALL JPGS AS YOU WILL BE USING MANY TOO CREATE THIS MONTAGE.  Other wise your image may get as big as 150 mb.  The end result will be a beautiful poster worth hanging.

It is a lot of fun...once you get home just down load them all and create a NEW file and size it to the dimensions you would like.  start dropping the images into the scene and line them up like a puzzle

Taking pictures is part of it...the MAIN thing is being able to be creative with your camera, using your knowledge of what the camera can do and limitations and working with them. Most people won't attempt things NEW. WHY? Afraid of FAILURE and not looking BAD....because it takes MANY tries to get it...so BRAVO for trying!

A collage (sometimes also called a 'joiner') is a large photographic image made up of a number of separate exposures of the same scene, joined together. How you shoot these individual pictures, and how you join them defines the type of collage you're going to make. You can go naturalistic - where you'd aim to minimise or hide the joins between the separate images, or you can play around and produce a more impressionistic effect.

Not pretty sure. I'm like to attend the Obon festival at 4:15 but if I got enough time I also want to attend Photo Montage. I will try to make it both. Screwed up.

Many of you including myself did not realize that this was set for Fathers Day...little by little members signed up were canceling because of this conflict. Rather than have you miss out it has been rescheduled so every one may join back in...so if you cancelled please sign back in...have a nice day!

Hey Larry, I do remember using the "mud" to block images, what a mess, I think I still have a jar. One of my 1st jobs was doing magazine layout with Ruby Lith. Cut and Paste. 8 hours a day.
RL works great in the darkroom if you have a jiggle box. Where do you even buy it these days?

After doing this project if you print out 4x6's you can make a miini ART piece and putting it together for a wall piece or if you use a ink jet printer make 8.5x11 and go all out and place it on your wall...sounds fun!

There are so many things you can do with your photography...your straight forward shot just Clicking the shutter and you have a result. CHANGing the setting and mixing them up can turn an average image into a dynamic image that shows TECHNIQUE, Experience and knowledge. The most fun I had in college was doing the EXPERIMENTAL Photography...in camera, darkroom. HAHA we had no computer software back then
Using OPAque to mask and using Ruby Lith for our images. Using D76 on Litho to get full tor

Different exposures, a lil of this , a lil of that. make one with only 5 too start or a hundred pieces. Don't worry we will help each other have FUN...OK!
