For you NEW members going that have any questions ask them now because shooting a moving procession in a crowd can be tricky...choice of lens is critical...where your going to be is a must know. Those that have been there before will be leading the packs of photographers. SHooting and moving...back stepping etc

for those of you that aren't going to brave the crowds...there are high vantage points in the area that offer a decent overall shot and with a zoom you can get some nice closeups. But this will be a ONE TIME PASS FOR YOU...be ready!

any of you still shooting in program mode or have the settings on auto ISO...I advise you to go to YOU TUBE and check low light shooting. Why? Because the settings you have give you an setting that will not handle motion...unless you pan your shot (bluriness) so control your shutter speed (that means adjust your ISO...accordingly)

you might want to read up on your 2nd rear curtain flash setting...the shutter will remain open and get the ambient lighting then fire at the end...giving you some nice trails while panning

I keep wanting to go to all these events with you guys, but I also am a stay at home mom. I have a 14 month old daughter, so not sure what the etiquette is about bringing a baby on my back. Anyone know?

I would not have a problem with your bringing your baby. How comfortable are you going to be with taking pictures and having your daughter with you.

I had signed up to attend, but Saturday took a bad fall, so my knee, shoulder, and elbow are messed up. It's really painful to walk for any length of time. If I feel better, I'll be there, since I wanted so much to be at this event. If not, I'll join you at the next event. Have a great time if I don't see you there.

The procession begins at 7:00pm on both nights,go to the middle of the street, next to the El Paseo resturant, that is where it usually starts! If you know where the blue water fountain is right in that area.

This is my first meetup with this group. Where are we meeting at El Pueblo? Which night is the procession? YAY! this is so convenient for me, just a short walk from Union Station.

Michelle, there is an actual monument right near Olvera Street. I look like my picture if you are getting there close to 12:15. My train gets in at 12:10, so I may be late.

Thanks Trudi. I've been to Olvera St. many times but can't think of which monument it is. I'll just go over there and look for the group, taking my El Dia de los Muertos card with me (the one I printed up). I'll look for the members. I'm sure I'll find them.

I am taking the train up from Orange County. Our train is supposed to get into Union Station at 12:10. If there are people that are going to meet at 12:15, would you mind waiting a few minutes for us to get from the train to across the street.
