My company is looking for mobile application development for a couple of projects. Is anyone here from a development house or have the ability to do some rapid prototyping? Or know of anyone?
Please feel free to give me a call[masked] or mail me.

And great intro to Swift; thanks Johnny, Meredith, & Lorin!

Sorry to jump in, I don't think that feature is on iOS, I don't see it. Are you maybe using the web or android? I've been wondering how to do that for a while.

Ahh. Ok so I m not the only one. I was hesitant to ask further thinking it's a dumb question

You're welcome. As Esteban Uribe also mentioned I would also visit the apple developer site for the videos on swift as well. They are broken down into intro, intermediate, and advance swift.

As you know Playground is a great educational tool,
maybe the speakers could save and share their presentation Playgrounds with the group, just incase we can't make it to a meeting.

Regarding the Udemy stuff, Apple released several really good videos on beginner, intermediate and advanced swift that are freely available. Save your money and watch those first https://developer.appl...

      Thoughts?

Compiler optimizations are about the last thing you write (granted, they do get a lot for free with the LLVM backend). Outside of bounds checks, I don't think there's anything inherent in the language that would make it slow, so that'll probably be dramatically improved in the coming months.

I have been waiting for something like Swift for like 15 years! I am soooooo jazzed.
Next up: "Siri, please write an app for me that ..."
