From: Will C.

[Hey, I know this is a little off topic since it's outside CA, but any of y'all know anyone who might be interested in this job? i.e. someone from the Obama campaign who doesn't want to leave Florida? Thanks! -Will Coley]

The Florida Immigrant Coalition is a statewide alliance of organizations concerned with the fair treatment of all people, including immigrants. www.floridaimmigrant.org. FLIC is emerging as an important social movement committed to grassroots leadership development and progressive alliance building.

At this pivotal moment in national advocacy for immigrant rights, we are seeking an experienced and talented self-starter who can further strengthen our coalition's communications infrastructure and increase our effectiveness. The ideal candidate should be skilled in relating to both New/Digital Media and broadcast journalists/corporate communications outlets. He/she should be an effective writer and creative communicator, a social connector/networker and somewhat tech-savvy. Candidate should have 3 years experience in managing communications projects for social justice advocacy. Foreign language skills in Spanish or Haitian Creole are a plus.

Responsibilities will include website strategy and development, expanding direct communications with member groups, supporters and wider public (i.e. e-newsletters, action alerts and promotional materials), monitoring and influencing statewide media, as well as designing and conducting training for member organizations.

Individuals who are up to this unique challenge and care deeply for social justice should submit a cover letter, resume and 3 writing samples to [address removed] by November 10.
