Here is a link to some of the happy hours around SB... we can do this instead of dinner. If we were to do dinner, this German restaurant sounds good: Brummis - The German Taste 3130 State St, Santa Barbara
Phone: (805)[masked] for dinner. Or closer to Goleta (our hotel) Petrini's 5711 Calle Real, Goleta Phone: (805)[masked] March 5th:
Leaving hotel and drive to Lotusland (13 miles)
Lotusland 695 Ashley Road, Santa Barbara, CA (805)[masked]
a unique 37-acre estate and botanic garden situated in the foothills of Montecito to the east of the city of Santa Barbara. There are over 12 gardens there with plants collected from around the world by Madame Ganna Walska, who owned the property from 1941 until her death in 1984. This is the history of the garden and the lady who created it. Click here.

We will be taking a two hour guided tour at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. It's $35 per person. Paid ahead of time. They don't refund but will you to use the unused pass within a year. Please call[masked] to make a reservation for yourself.

Lunch TBD After lunch, we will visit the Santa Barbara Historic Court House:
The Courthouse has been called the most beautiful government building in America. Designed by William Mooser III, the Spanish-Moorish style building was completed in 1929 with a bell tower that allows you to see 360 degree view of Santa Barbara. Five mile from Lotusland.

If time permits, we will also visit Santa Barbara Mission
2201 Laguna St Santa Barbara, CA 93105 (1.7 miles away from Courthouse)

Dinner in Ventura on the waterfront. Thought that will be nice. I picked this one because it was rated highly by Urbanspoon. Brophy Bros, it's a seafood restaurant with reasonable prices.

Drive back to Los Angeles.

Should you decide to stay in Santa Barbara for Saturday night and into Sunday, you are welcome to do so. I can book the extra night for you if you let me in advance and that there is availability. I will collect twice the hotel amount above from you. Driving arrangement: Please volunteer to drive if you can. I am setting the reimbursement rate at IRS standard of 51 cents per mile. Whole trip including all the stops is approximately 330 miles which calculates out to about $169 per trip. For a car that will sit 4, $42 per person; for a car that will sit 6, $29 per person. You can decide how you want to get there.

I will email a meeting point address in West Los Angeles to confirmed attendees by March 3rd.

I had the best time. Karen and Mary, two locals, showed me around. We had two great, leisurely days: lunch at Los Olives cafe(Outside sitting), wine tasting down the street, local Italian restaurant for dinner, Lotusland, waterfront lunch (the Ukulele club was playing), coffee and cake at the Biltmore Hotel... what more can a girl want? Thank you Mary and Karen.

The Runaround in Santa Barbara and Los Olivos was perfect. We had a great time in Los Olivos Wine Tasting and then back to Santa Barbara and had dinner at Petrini's in Santa Barbara. Day 2 - we went to Lotusland - magnificant - I will go again. Then we had lunch on the breakwater in Santa Barbara at Brophy Brother's, food was great, as usual. Then we drove out to Montecito and walked around the Biltmore Hotel, beautiful and then took a break and sat overlooking the ocean and had some coffee. What a wonderful week-end we had. Thanks Eva and Karen.

Eve out did herself this time. The weekend was magical. The weather was amazing, wine tasting in private rooms, estates in Santa Barbara, Native local guides that took us to special places..... all to much.
    Thank you Eve
