If you've never watched a polo game, you're in for a treat … especially if you like horses and action! The Will Rogers State Park has the only polo field in Los Angeles as well as being the site of Will Rogers's home, which was deeded to the state in 1944 and is open for free docent and staff led tours.
We will meet at 1:00 pm for a picnic lunch on the grassy hill bordering the polo field so bring a blanket or towel to sit on. This will NOT be a pot luck: bring lunch for yourself including drinks, utensils, napkins, etc., and don't forget sunblock!
The polo matches begin at 2:00 and run till 5:00. Tours of the Will Rogers home run every hour on the hour till 4:00. You can choose to just watch the polo or run up to the house for a tour and then return to the field. There is also a Visitor Center which has been completely revamped since the last time I was there and now includes a gift shop. Souvenir polo ball, anyone?

To bone up on the game, read "How To Watch A Polo Match" HERE.
By the way, everything is free except parking which is $12.00 per car ($11.00 for seniors). If you're interested in carpooling, note that in a comment and be sure to state what general area you're in.
This should be a fun, interesting and relaxing afternoon and I hope you can join us!
