Raffi Krikorian will present Rebuilding Twitter

Twitter's Raffi Krikorian presents "Rebuilding Twitter"

Fox Networks has been kind enough to let us use their facilities for this meetup.

AGENDA

7:00PM Meet, Greet & Eat @ the Commissary

7:30PM Main Presentation @ Zanuck Theatre

Followed by Q&A

TOPIC

Twitter's VP and head of Platform Engineering will discuss how Twitter has rebuilt its platform to handle the massive scale that they need to handle, particularly during events that cause spikes.

SPONSORS

Diamond Web Services, Inc. has sponsored Raffi's flight.
DWS is a boutique web & mobile development shop located in Venice, CA. Active in the open source community, DWS provides resources to help put on many of the tech meetups in Los Angeles, including this one.

Dataversity's new 2-day course on “Big Data Multi-Platform Analytics” will get Data Scientists, Data Warehousing and BI professionals up to scratch on Big Data, Hadoop, NoSQL DBMSs and Multi-Platform Analytics. How does Big Data fit within a traditional analytical environment and what skills do you need to develop for Big Data Analytics? All of these questions are addressed in this new knowledge packed workshop.

Connect to Tech Whether you're looking to meet other techies, local business owners, or stay on pulse of local government, Connect to Tech LA is your one stop shop for social events, organizing legislative advocacy and continuing education. We are a modern product of the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce, engaging everyone from the Gen Y super trooper to tech-age immigrants. We all have something to offer one another. Now let's get our hands dirty!

PARKING

Park in the Galaxy lot. At the Guard booth, tell them you’re on the list for the 7 PM event.

GIVE A RIDE, GET A RIDE

If you'd like to carpool, please post your location in the comments section.

It's always a shame when we hear that someone wanted to attend but couldn't because of the distance.

FILMING

Thanks! Great talk! There are times when just one awesome talk makes up for all the extra driving you do to get to a meetup.. AND THIS WAS one of those for me! If you did not see it in person, definitely go to the video. Highly recommended.

btw, if you enjoy tech presentations and sharing knowledge, I will post a few great community events below...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
