POKER, POKER & POKER! We love Poker! Meet & play poker w/amateur & beginning players in fun & social home games. We are the largest and oldest Meetup.com home game group active in Los Angeles. LAPG was the first group to actively host home games in L.A. We have over 35 Game Hosts in Santa Monica to Monrovia, from Encino to Long Beach. We often have great poker potlucks, BBQ, picnics, gourmet dinners to fun themed events.

While the vast majority of our events are No Limit Texas Holdem tournament or cash games, we also have poker instruction events for Newbies, Heads Up Tournaments, Omaha, H.O.R.S.E. & other mixed games events beyond Texas Hold'em.

If you currently are in or host a private game and you need to fill some seats, join us and become an Event Host and you can tell  our 1,200+ members about your games. All FREE of cost.

Our lady members ROCK! We have two members who were the Last Woman Standing at their respective WSOP Main Event! Breeze in 2010 and Maria Ho in 2007. The only woman to ever play at the final table of the main event, Barbara Enright has played at our home games! We encourage female players to join us and you will be welcomed to our group. We even have a Jacks vs Jills event which is one of our most fun and popular series. The ladies won the first two events, but I think it's even now...

All our games are RAKE FREE, social games. In order to reimburse our poker event hosts for the expenses they incur providing food/drink/cleaning/supplies while hosting events, we suggest that members make a voluntary donation so that hopefully, our event hosts might break even while hosting events. By making a small voluntary donation to cover their costs, this helps to keep our hosts happy to continue hosting more events.

We also occasionally have very fun, unique social events with joint Meetups with our sister foodies groups.
