Yes, vegans can grill, too! And our grilling is the best because it leaves the worst parts (the burning of flesh) and keeps the best (fire licked vegetables!). It's the end of summer (boo hoo!) so we shall celebrate...grill time!
Please bring a vegan dish to grill and share or a dish that goes with grilling items. Make enough food for 10 people. We will provide the grills (using natural wood) and grilling tools. All you need to bring are the vegetables and/or plant proteins (and maybe sauce if you are really ambitious).
You can grill almost anything...from tofu to tempeh to vegan burgers and many vegetables (zucchini, peppers, green beans, eggplant, portebella mushrooms, onions, cauliflower, fennel, tomatos, broccoli, potatos, frisee, etc). You want to cut them so they are large enough to not fall thru the grill. Bring a sauce or marinade for your grillables and you are good to go! We'll provide the rice and extra sauce.
We can even grill some peaches or figs for dessert, which goes beautifully with vanilla vegan ice cream.
I get my grilling inspiration from a Vegetarian grilling book I have but you can find a lot online. I get my sauce inspiration from "The Saucy Vegetarian"...easy no cook sauces that make the meal.
