Each Sunday the Urban Community Outreach’s Drop-in-Center becomes a refuge and haven from the harsh conditions of the streets for the homeless and working poor in Downtown Long Beach. We are always in need of caring people, willing to give back to the less fortunate to help us serve a hot meal on Sundays. Volunteers are needed anytime from 8am to 4pm. However, our greatest volunteer need is with food prep starting at 8 am. Feel free to come for a couple of hours or stay for the day. For full details check out http://www.urbancommunityoutreach.org/dic. If you are interested, just show up. Enter through the mesh steal doors on Cedar Street, into the courtroom, then into the dining area on the left. When you arrive, please sign in and prepare a name badge for yourself. Questions? Contact us at [masked].
We are always in need of men and women’s clothing donations -please, gently worn and clean clothes only. We can use toiletries, bedding and towels, and of course, food and monetary donations are always welcome.
PARKING: Park in the lot at Cedar & 3rd in one of the designated spots for the church or on the street, which is free on Sundays.
