Sun Lakes/Chandler Democratic Club Meeting

The Sun Lakes/Chandler Democratic Club's monthly meeting is on the 2nd Monday of the month, with guest speakers and discussions. Also snacks, beverages and the 50-50 raffle. Come join us.

The first speaker for the March meeting is Mario Diaz, Candidate for the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board.  Mario earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in 1991 and later a Masters degree in Public Administration.  In 2002, Diaz was Campaign Manager for Janet Napolitano’s campaign for Governor and he later served as her Deputy Chief of Staff.

The second speaker is Jonathan Alanis, Outreach/Development Coordinator for the Arizona Advocacy Network.  Alanis graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Political Science, a Philosophy minor and a Certificate in International Studies.  Jonathan will present a program on “Money in Politics” which will focus on clips from the Legislature and Documentaries with an overview of the consequences, future implications of the recent decision of the Arizona Supreme Court and possibilities for involvement.

We'll also hear from our local candidates for the AZ Legislature, Congressional District 5 and the Chandler City Council. Please bring non-perishable food items to the club meetings for the Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank.  Collections take place in the west parking lot from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We also have a box at the North entrance of the Sun Lakes Sunset Grill lobby. Thanks for your generosity.

It was a very good meeting with interesting information and ways to be active so this state is more to our liking. If we all do something to stop the crazy ideas, laws and people in office, we can do amazing things!
