Soul line dancing is choreographed dance moves that you do in a group, without a partner typically to R&B, hip-hop, soul and contemporary music. It can count as exercise by keeping you moving and active. Learning the steps and patterns also helps your cognitive and muscle memory. It is also a very social activity, building relationships and becoming part of a larger community.

**This class is recommended for students who already know the language of line dance and can follow voice instruction. **

This class will offer variety with time to just dance and have fun during whatever time remains. Both new and classic line dances will be in rotation.

This is a virtual line dance class for members who already know the language of line dance and are able to respond to voice instruction. In this class you can expect a wide variety of line dances covering all levels.

***INSTRUCTIONS FOR JOINING****
This class is taught via YouTube. Within 10 minutes prior to start time, the instructor will post a comment to indicate that the link has been posted and the meetup is closed. At that point, you will be able to look at the meetup details for the Online Event section (refresh if necessary). Those of you that RSVP'd yes will be able to see the link. Anyone RSVP'd yes whose payment has not been received will have their RSVP changed to 'No'. Anyone attempting to join after the meetup has been closed will need to either post a comment or contact the Host directly to be permitted to join. Once class has started, you will be charged for the class, even if you are not able to join live. So be sure to update your RSVP if you are only interested in attending live and know you will not be able to make it.

If you're brand new to Hip Hop Soul Line Dancing, or simply have been out of action for some time and want to get back into the swing of things, this is the class for you. Even if you are experienced, we recommend this class for the sake of fine tuning the fundamentals of line dancing.

*****WHERE*****
Join us at John Chavis Memorial Park Friday nights. We will be dancing inside the Multipurpose Room 2, which is upstairs by the elevator inside the main building. If and when weather permits, we'll be outside of the main building, as seen in the picture of this meetup. The capacity for this is currently set for 30 people, not including me. Once the session begins, the doors will be locked. You can still be allowed in if you are running late. Just knock to get someone's attention.

There are plenty of chairs available for you to pull out so, no need to bring your own chair unless you are particular. :)

*****CLASS DETAILS*****
The objective of this class is to teach you what the basic line dance steps are, including the differences between Country Western Line Dancing vs Hip Hop Soul Line Dancing. You will also learn the fundamental terminology and concepts associated with executing these steps. Lastly, you will be groomed for following voice instruction. Towards the end of each class, what you have learned for the day will be reinforced with beginner line dances to test your knowledge. There will be plenty of music and movement so come comfortable and prepared to sweat.

****HOW TO PAY*****
If you would like to pay online in advance, you can do so up to one day before class by going to https://tinyurl.com/Chavis-Fridays. FYI, you will be prompted to setup an account, if you don't have one with reclink already. If you do not pay one or more days ahead of time, you will have to pay at the front desk the day of.

If you are preferring to pay on site, you will need to check in at the front desk to do so. Please be sure to pay before coming in. I cannot take money myself. You are supposed to be able to use cash, check, card, or Apple Pay. Exact change is needed, if you're paying with cash, unless you want to have the change added to your account as credit for future classes.
