"Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food." -- Hippocrates, 400 B.C.

This group began out of desire to restore and preserve health. This is exactly the purpose of the Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF): to restore and preserve health with traditional foods.

Our cabinets are full of prescription and over-the-counter symptom relievers, but NONE of these will HEAL us or restore health. Our bodies are constantly being bombarded by chemicals.... in our water supply, through pesticides on the foods we eat. If you read labels, you see that our food chain is bombarded with preservatives, dyes, chemicals, additives, etc.

What you don't see on those labels is the genetic engineering of the foods we eat and the degradation of the components that ought to bring us nourishment, healing and health.

Every toxin you ingest has to be broken down or excreted by your kidneys or liver. Did you know that our soil does not contain the nutrients it once had, therefore our food chain is depleted of nutrients that cause the plants to be more susceptible to pests, rot and disease? How can we replace the nutrients in those plants and our bodies that depend on them for food?

Do you have a desire to improve your health by allowing you food to be your medicine? Do you have heirloom seeds to share or want to know where you can find heirloom seeds? Do you know where members can obtain raw milk? Do you know where we can buy meat that doesn't contain growth hormones and antibiotics? Do you have backyard chickens? Do you grow your own vegetables but want more information about how you can do organic composting?

The purpose of this group is to network and share information and ideas about these topics: organic, locally-raised, whole foods.
