Speaker Bio: Speaker Bio: Sara Wilkinson was elected President of Maryland NOW in May 2013. She previously led and helped reinvigorate the newly reestablished Baltimore NOW chapter by increasing its presence in Baltimore and helping to organize several events. Sara is leading Maryland NOW around feminist issues such as reproductive justice and human rights, and is working to bring the chapter into the digital age. Sara hails from Minnesota, having moved to Baltimore in 2010 after completing law school at the University of Minnesota. She works for Maryland Legal Aid, where she represents low-income people, especially seniors, with civil legal problems. She grew up in a feminist household and attended Smith College, partly inspired by alumnae Betty Friedan (1942) and Gloria Steinem (1956). She is fluent in Spanish, loves to travel, is married, and has two cats and a Bernese Mountain Dog.
