What we’re about

Are you a member of the LGBTQ community who believes a person can be "Good without God"? Would you like to help build an LGBTQ community in Baltimore that values reason and compassion without regard to belief in the supernatural?

We are the Baltimore Chapter of the LGBTQ Humanist Alliance (https://www.lgbtqhumanists.org/about-the-lgbtqha), a project of the American Humanist Association. The LGBTQ Humanist Alliance of Baltimore is a forum for LGBTQ humanists from around the region to exchange ideas on local organizing, find support in coming out as LGBTQ (and a humanist), and to speak out with one voice on issues of concern to the LGBTQ-humanist community! We are a member of the Baltimore Coalition of Reason (http://BaltimoreCoR.org/). We also welcome straight allies.

The LGBTQ Humanist Alliance of the American Humanist Association (AHA) is committed to advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families. The Alliance seeks to improve the lives of LGBTQ individuals though education, public service and outreach and serve as a resource for members of the American Humanist Association, the greater freethought community, and the public on LGBTQ issues.

The AHA began this project as the LGBTQ Humanist Council and later changed to the LGBTQ Humanist Alliance.  Our group followed the name change from Council to Alliance, which reflects the inclusive nature of our group.
