Worcester Park Vegans Meeting

Worcester Park Vegans' (|G+|FB) monthly social at Christ Church with St. Philip, a chance to have a chat with like-minded folk, tea and coffee provided!

We've use of the downstairs kitchen to make hot drinks (we're to bring our own, not use church supplies) but, as a Guide pack is downstairs at the same time, I get the room much cheaper.

Come along with anything you'd like to share - food, a recipe, a book you recommend, an idea, an event, a project you're involved with... let's put veganism on Worcester Park's map!

We have to vacate the church by 8:30 PM, but everyone is welcome to join us across the road at The North End Tavern.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone tonight. If people have books they'd like to bring along to lend to others, I'm starting up a little informal library for us to swap books and note it down somewhere so people can keep track of their books and so on. If you've got a recipe to share, please bring that also, and any flyers/ publicity for any vegan/AR events you are involved in. Let's support, encourage and help each other help other animals and make the world a kinder, fairer place for all.

We had a good turnout for the first meeting in March, mostly people who don't seem to be on Meetup but heard about the group via other means - my notices and articles, I guess. My son, Adrian is coming this time, hoping to informally interview anyone who is willing, for an article about veganism he wants to write for the local paper. He's studying for a journalism degree.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for our second meeting! Let us all sit somewhere different this time, near to people we did not speak to last time, and make some time for short introductions. We will go over to the North End Tavern afterwards, as we have to finish in the church hall by 8.30. No pressure on anyone to come over to the pub, just if you wish to carry on a little longer. If not, that's fine. It's also fine for anyone to join us there if they can't get to the church for the start time of 7 pm.

The Cheeky Pea have sent Wendy the recipe for those delicious chocolate balls we had for dessert there on 20 March, so we hope to share that with you at the meeting!

Sorry, I'm unable to join you all this time, as Napak and I fly off to Stuttgart in the morning, for her sister's wedding. Hope you have another good event.
