Hello Gemma, we're just outside the Global cafe but it seems closed

Did you manage to catch up with anyone Alex, I note the link to Gemma's potluck web page is broken.

Doh! Just noticed the following on Farcebook - "Important notice - Reading Vegan Potluck on the 7th April is cancelled. Sadly this is due to lack of interest as with only 7 confirmed guests, two of them being us running it, it just wouldn't be worth anyone's time as there wouldn't be much food to share. So sorry to those who did confirm. Also there won't be any more regular events. Instead I plan on running the odd one every now and then plus I have plans for other events like drinks nights and potluck picnics in the summer. Hope you all stick about on this page where I will continue to post various bits and bobs and thank you to everyone who has been along to previous potluck events and for your support - Gem xx"
Sorry ladies, I was 'Following' Gemma's Farcebook group, but never received a notification of this (all too typical of Farcebook).
I've been there with my bf and we met Chiemi. It would have been nicer if you let us know in advance :)

I've just checked, and it appears Gemma left our group in January. Sadly she didn't leave a reason (which is an option), or inform us that she was no longer running this automatically repeating event. I'm so glad you all met up, to salvage what was otherwise a wasted journey (for which I apologise again).

I see on our home page that Gemma posted the following four days ago (I'm guessing it was removed when she left Meetup altogether, and not just SurreyVeg): "Apologies to anyone who came to this. I didn't set this event up and forgot to tell the person who did that it is no longer running. It does say in the description though to check my website for details. I'll get it cancelled from here." Sadly, she's also deleted that 'Important notice' conversation, where I'd suggested she update her website (http://www.veganshibb...). Farcebook! ;-)
Although this Potluck event was not happened and waited the outside of The Globe Cafe to open the door for us, at least for me it was inspiring and mind blowing opportunity. Because, I met an amazing vegan couple, Alex and her husband, who also came to this event.

Great that you were able to turn a negative into a positive :-)
Next: Invite friends
This is your group, please do suggest relevant events; visiting a vegan-friendly venue, and fancy some possible company, why not make it a Meetup?!
I recommend turning off unnecessary email notifications, and using your Meetup calendar. See Pages for other advice, such as updating your location, and running a buying group.
We're proud to host events for Worcester Park (WPveg), Kingston and Richmond (KRveg), East (ESveg), North (NSveg) and Twickenham and North (TWandKTveg) Surrey groups, and Croydon (CVS), Guildford (GVS) and University of Surrey (UniSveg) veg socs, amongst others.
I hope you enjoy the group, if you do please tell your friends, if you don't please tell me!
P.S. Thanks to Robb for 'hosting' us; 'Organizer dues' cover three groups, so I pay him £40 a year. Likewise, thank you to the Dove family, for generously covering half of 2016's costs.
