If you go to the Blues Meetup site Joe listed all the times for the night. You will only need your Bass , cable and any pedal(s) that you use. Entire backline will be set up

I believe I've played (at least once, anyway) everything on that list except "Summer Samba". I would make a pitch for "Nostalgia in Times Square".

Am I correct in assuming that I am included in the USO show?

Yes on both accounts Nic, show and song choice. Nostalgia in Times Square is a better choice than Summer Samba. Bossa Nova is not a good choice for this particular venue

Updated suggestions for Songs for the show are as follows. Need Nick to be comfortable with what we have to play.:
    Sunny
    Gigilo
    Four
    Blue Bossa
    Oye Como Va
    Blue Monk
    Mercy Mercy Mercy
    Comin Home Baby
    All Blues
    Black Orpheous
(This should be 45 minutes right here), but if not, then:
    Satin Doll
    Summer Samba

All joking aside Bruce what about So What or Tune Up another good song would be Mr. PC by Coltrane. Easy head to learn great for improvisation, nice quick tempo

It is a benefit show for raising money for the veterans that the jazz and blues group along with a few other bands do at Buckley's in Valley Stream. Gig is 6:00 to 6:45 September 14th for the jazz group

Nic we have the USO show September 14th. At this time we are only considering music we have played in the past at the studio over the years. After the show we can certainly work on the Crusaders song and any others that are suggested. For now though it needs to be from the catalog of songs we already know.

What is the USO show? Anyway, as I said, I do not usually suggest songs. It was just a thought about injecting some energy *without* playing rock songs.

I try to avoid suggesting songs, but have you guys ever attempted "Put It Where You Want It" by the Crusaders?
Conversation with Elliot who expressed the opinion that we play up-tempo tunes better than the slower ones. My thought is that slow tunes require either a commanding vocal or instrumental solo and are therefore more difficult.
That said, I think the ultimate goal is to "own" a song, make it your own. I thought we came close to that with "Four" last week.

    So we will add :
    Sunny
    possibly All of Me
and I suggest Just a Gigilo also.
Just should round out a 45 minute set list
