So there we all were talking about Linda Ronstadt and how wonderful she was...tonight she shows up on World News with Diane Sawyer...None of us wondered what's she's been up to. She's been sick with Parkinson's disease :(...She has lost her singing voice and has a weak speaking voice. She truly was a wonderful singer and a beautiful lady.

      WHAT?

      September 12, 2013

It was good last night We worked on new stuff and sounded good for the most part. Again, the volume has to come down. My ears area still ringing.

Jeff I agree to stop playing my little Zep or Who bits or what have you in between songs, I apologize for that. I hope everyone will agree to lower their guitars, amps or both during the songs, play something other than bar chords and reduce their distortion, I of course will watch these things as well as they apply to me.

I hope we're all on board with this. We are there to have fun, not get frustrated.

So I take it from Rob Ms reaction to trying Eminence Front that Wed. is going to be R and B and mid sixties blues and Monday will now be the rock night, is everyone in agreement with that?

Eminence front on Monday! Lets do it

      September 11, 2013

  • Robert H.

My point is that Wed has gone more towards rhythem and blues at this point., obviously to take advantage of Sandy's voice. Songs like Your no Good and Fire are no more blues songs than Eminence Front. The first two are more R and B pop the later more Funk, Rock, Blues. Obviously I am more of a rocker, but I have learned a lot from these sessions. I will continue here, but really hope we can get the Monday night thing going. I am looking forward to that on the 23rd.

I.J.W.T.M.L.T.Y. - let us know what key you want to sing it in Sandy.

      September 9, 2013

    • Jeff R.

The one I put in files was in the key of G. I think Sandy is comfortable in that key.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm Rob from Bayside and this is my first time coming to this meet-up. Could you give me a little info on what to bring. Should I bring my own amp, are we working from any specific sheet music or real/fake-books, etc? Thanks and I'm really looking forward to playing with all of you. Have a great weekend!

We just played it for the first time, it's pretty new lol , gonna find it on you tube and find the chords, when I get em will put em up!

      September 5, 2013

  • Jeff R.

You all see that I made a good choice with Brian. We'll do Wild Horses and a Linda Ronstadt tune that Sandy is working on. (Don't know which one she chose and Born Under A Bad Sign and whatever.

Hey Rob are we going to do the album version of "No Good" or one of the live versions? The intro is the same on either but the middle descending triads differ and so does the last section up at the 13th. Not trying to be wise guy but to have it sound good everybody needs to be at the same spot at that section.

      September 5, 2013

    • Rob M.

I'd say stick with the album version Ed. That's what most people know.
