This was a great day with a lot of laughs. Thanks for the superb instruction. A lot of names to learn, but I'll definitely be back to learn them.

Well. I AM Jealous that you don't even need to WEAR a skirt... https://www.dropbox.co... Then again, your choice of boat color is a bit ahem, *questionable* ... https://www.dropbox.co... Been in black boat too long & felt need to break out?? lol.

Thanks so much to Mike Steve, Chris and all the other guys who helped me out after I swamped. Learned a tremendous amount from all you guys. Thanks so much and see you again. After I get some flotation bags! ;)

It was a great day on the water with a large group of people who were all looking to learn something new. Wet exits, assisted and unassisted rescues, paddle strokes, turning, high and low bracing, sculling and Chris King even got his first 3 rolls in. Everyone had a high level of participation and I look forward to doing this again. Oh and thank you Mike Bogart for remembering to wear shorts under his skirt!

Steve, thanks again for the patience and direction to work through the fundamentals I was missing. I'm looking forward to getting that roll more reliable and then working on the off-side roll!

Thanks to everyone for coming out and having fun!

Hi all. I haven't been around for a while but am interested in attending this skills day. I will pay my membership dues :) and RSVP. Just wanted to know if I'm still welcomed! (haha- no seriously though, because I haven't been around) and also of course, if I can rent a kayak (I had to buy a car which took precedence over a new kayak. Too bad I can't kayak to work!). Thanks!

FYI... Called the Dinghy Shop today and it seemed a bit complicated to rent a boat tomorrow because they won't be open yet and it's not really their event. There won't be any one there to help me get a boat and paddles, and I have to fill out (liability?) paperwork but no one will be in the office. She was going to e-mail me the paperwork and said I could pay after, but haven't gotten any paperwork. It's no big deal if I can't rent- I totally understand! If its not possible, I won't come. But as it's pretty late on the eve before, I guess I'll show up, and if I can rent, I'll rent! And if I can't, I'm okay with having to turn around and coming back home. It is what it is! :)

I was at the shop tonight and Diana told me you were coming. I have the liability paperwork for you. So show up at 9 and all will go well.

I can teach rolling as long as you can demonstrate high / low bracing and sculling.

      Thanks Steve I can

      June 21, 2014

Held off replying till I knew my availability but I believe I am cleared to paddle! MIght need to caffeinate substantially first -- which I'll no doubt then regret while being stuck in the boat!

I'd be up for it if it were scheduled on a "not a holiday" day. So far I've only been able to make one of the group's meetups due to the rest conflicting with trips home. Still essentially stuck soloing for want of anyone to join on weeknights.

Can we maybe do an after work weekday session?
Like maybe a 6:00 @Timber Pt.? (Or someplace little more West if thats more convenient for the majority, like DinghyShop, or Field10 @Jones).
Not sure where everyone is coming in from.
