I am still haunted by Paul Laurence Dunbar's "We were the Mask." When Maya Angelou came to Springfield, MA, and shared her version of Dunbar's poem -- til this day, I still get chills...She asked the audience to close their eyes and open, open, open your ears, and then began...it was like listening to John Coltrane on a cool summer day. My mind and body was mellow yellow.
That would be beautiful....

A miss Russell Simon's Def Poetry Jam...This seems like the next best thing, so I definitely very interested. I am amazed by the lyrical, smooth, and powerful words that flow from spoken word artists. It is elixir for the soul.
