Nice, easy, 4.0-mile hike at Hale Reservation will be great for families with kids aged 8-plus. All are welcome, with or without kids. We'll stop briefly along the way to enjoy the season, passing both Storrow and Noanet Ponds. We’ll do two loops this time: both the Storrow Pond Trail and the Page & Sadie Trail around Noanet Pond. We'll hike rain or shine. Dress for the day's weather. Waterproof hiking shoes/boots and wool socks suggested. Be sure to bring water and light snacks.

Enter Hale Reservation at Carby St. entrance off Dover Rd. Pass Main Offices on left; parking will be ahead on left at field.

Meet at 10:00 at parking/picnic area at Cat Rock Field. We'll return to parking area by 12:30.

Is there a way to see the total distance?

Hi Chistine, we hiked approx. 3.7 miles. If you click on the above link and hover your mouse pointer over the map, you will see a black bar appear at the bottom, with a zig-zag line at the bottom right of it. If you hover your mouse over that icon and click it, you will be in "Statistics Mode". Once you click that, a box will pop up with Trip Stats. Click on "Info", and look at the length. That will show you the distance. Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting the pix, Matt. Anyone take a photo with Matt in it? If so, please post.

I'm not sure if I got into any pics, but being a Dad, that is okay as I'm used to it!! ;)

Very nice hike today! A bit chilly at 10 am, but we all warmed up quickly. Great group of very friendly folks. An all-around beautiful morning in the woods.

Hey All, I was going to check on the trails tomorrow, but my schedule has filled up so I won't have a chance. I think we can be very confident that the trails will be in very good shape with some muddy spots. Just dress for the weather, and it should be perfect for hiking, in the 40s to 50s and sunny. See you Saturday at 10!

Looks like we've got a good group for Saturday! Glad you're all coming. I'll stop by Hale later in the week to check the trail, but I can't imagine there's much, if any, snow left. I think a good pair of waterproof hikers will do the trick (we might get muddy), and I always recommend wool socks for comfort. Be sure to bring water and light snack. See you Saturday morning!
