Please join L.L. Bean Mansfield at 10AM on Saturday December 7th for a late fall hike along the Green-Yellow Trail in the southern section of F. Gilbert Hills State Forest. This is a new outing developed last winter but was never attempted due to poor winter road conditions on High Rock Road. The Green-Yellow trail typically doesn’t see much foot traffic as it winds its’ way through some very nice terrain. We’ll start our hike in the circular parking area at the end of High Rock Road in F. Gilbert Hills State Forest (see directions below). The hike will also intersect and follow sections of the Warner and Acorn trails. This hike should run the full 3 hours and cover over 4 miles in distance. High Rock Road is not maintained for winter use so if we need to make changes to the hike mandated by poor road or weather conditions those changes will be posted to this site.
