Sunset Hike/Snowshoe Blue Hills Reservation!

  • Blue Hills

    Skyline Trail, Milton, MA (map)

    42.247223 -71.114555

  • Join L.L. Bean Dedham on Saturday, February 15th for our first sunset hike. We'll be hiking the beautiful, open air Blue Hills skyline trail from Blue Hills Reservoir to Buck Hill (496ft). At Buck Hill, you'll be treated to near-panoramic views to Boston and Great Blue Hill as the sun sets.

Bring snacks and your favorite hot beverage to enjoy as we wait for the sun to sink below the horizon.

Please arrive in the lot 15 minutes early so that we can cover the c. 2 mile hike to Buck Hill before the sun sets at 5:16pm.

I hope to scout the location early this week and post trail conditions here.

PARKING-Please park in the small lot/roadside next to Blue Hills reservoir. Ryan will be standing in the lot to help guide anyone in. If you are unable to find the group please call Ryan at[masked]-5739.

Please bring a flashlight/headlamp to illuminate the way back.

These outings are free but you are responsible to have everything you need.

The minimum age for attending is 8 (Children 8-15 yrs must have a participating adult with them, 16-17 yrs must have a parent/guardian sign participant agreement but do not need to attend).

Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Dressing in layers works best.

Equipment-Appropriate footwear/snowshoes, trekking poles, wool/synthetic base layer, insulated jacket or mid layer/shell combination.

A camera and/or binoculars are always a welcome addition.

Please arrive 15 minutes before hand because we want to get started on time.
