Hike or Snowshoe the Old Quarry Trail at Nockamixon State Park

Hike or snowshoe the Old Quarry Trail at Nockamixon. Very little elevation change so this should be an easy hike. We will meet at the end of Old Bethlehem Pike in the parking area by the gate at the dead end of the road.

What a truly beautiful, sunny morning for a walk in the snowy woods. Had a great day.

Sorry I missed the gang. Couldn't find the rendevous. Well, I did by 1:30 after slogging through the woods for 3hrs. Boulder fields, fallen timber, creek crossing, lots of brush. It was no easy go. Eventually found your footprints and followed the loop. Just so I could say I was there. Ha! Next time guys.

Will I be able to do this as just a hiker? No snowshoes... bummer

    January 24, 2014

    • Lorraine

Theresa, I don't have snowshoes either so will just be hiking... although snow shoes would probably be more fun

I will also be snow shoeless and hiking along with you.

Yay, it's snowing! Looking good for tomorrow. For you hikers, or anyone else for that matter, I'll have a few sets of poles y'all can use.

Steve: sorry to back out, but my teenage boys seem to not be interested. Next time I'll plan on coming alone:)

To answer some of the questions regarding this hike/snowshoe. If you do not have snowshoes you can certainly just hike. With the added snow from today it might be a little more difficult to hike, but certainly doeable. As for dogs, they are welcome as long as they are on a 6' leash and are not aggressive and under control.

Hi Lisa, Lorraine. I'm new to the group but if all goes through for this day I'll have my 10 and 14 year old sons. Great motivation for them all!!

Hey Lisa, If I'm placed on the "attending" list, I'll try to bring my 6yo grandson - as I remember that's about how old your son is, right? I think Westin would do well with this - especially if he has a buddy.

Lorraine-- That would be awesome! Yes my son is 6

    Steve--
My +1 will be my son--hope that's ok---I figured I'd start him off on this one (easier) before the others---let me know if you think it'll be too much for him..
    Thanks!
