Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5.
The purpose of the event is to have fun while promoting maritime skills, and awareness of
environmental issues that affect our waterways. The event will focus on manual powered
vessels and the conditions and equipment that affect their enjoyment and safety on the water.
There will be something for everyone, paddler and non paddler alike, at all skill levels from the beginner who is just thinking about getting into the sport to the seasoned paddler with many years of experience.
There will be informative presentations on boats, equipment, and the skills needed to venture onto the water and return safely.
On-water demonstrations will include:
Kayak and canoe maneuvering and recovery skills including a kayak rolling demonstration. A variety of displays will present informative information from associated organizations.
We will offer Lighthouse tours, nature tours, boat try‐outs, and a kayak tour of the harbor.
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary (USCGA) will conduct a flare demonstration ‐ for those of you that
have old expired flare please bring them for disposal. The USCGA will be offering Vessel Safety
Checks, so bring your boat get it checked ‐ then if you wish enter the fun kayak race.
Door prizes will be awarded or take a chance on a variety of great raffle prizes.
