Upstream Challenge: 180 Miles by Canoe from Sea to Source

Matt Hopkinson just finished his upstream challenge, paddling and poling 180 miles up the Penobscot River to the headwaters of the Mattawamkeag River.  He did this to draw attention to the one thousand river miles of newly restored spawning habitat for endangered Atlantic salmon.  This new habitat was largely created through the efforts of the Penobscot River Restoration Trust who has already removed two river wide dams as part of their $60 million project.

Join Matt while he recounts the adventure through still images and video he shot throughout this amazing trip.  Matt is an excellent story teller and a paddling legend.
