The Laguna Woods Republican Club will host its next Luncheon at Clubhouse 5 on Friday April 25, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. (The meeting starts at 11:30 and luncheon is served at noon.) Our speaker for the day will be John M. W. Moorlach. John was a candidate for U.S. Representative John Campbell’s seat but has since dropped out. Currently he is the Second District Supervisor on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, representing Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton and a portion of Buena Park and Fountain Valley. He also is serving on several boards, commissions, and committees, including: orange County Transportation Authority, Orange County Vector Control District, Children and Families Commission of Orange County plus many more. John has been a voice on major fiscal issues facing the county, state and the nation. He is a noted and respected long-time advocate for public employee pension reform and serves on the California Foundation for Fiscal Responsibility Advisory Board. It will be interested to hear what he has to say about running for office, with all the ins and outs. Come bring your questions for John. It will be a very inspiring meeting.
