From Friday Night Fights:
If you have never seen a live Muay Thai show, now is the perfect time to check it out and see what it is all about! Friday Night Fights is offering up the ultimate summer event – Muay Thai in Manhattan, outdoors, and it is all free.
And if you are already a Muay Thai fan, you probably cannot imagine a more beautiful setting than Muay Thai on the Hudson River as the sun sets on a beautiful day. Music, food and drinks…the only thing better is the fight card set for the night.
The headline bout is a dynamic match-up between amateur fighters Jon Nace of High Falls, NY and Adam Pryde of NY, NY. What highlights this particular fight is that although it is amateur, it is also full rules.
Elbows, knees, and five rounds – that’s what you’ll get in this full rules fight.
Besides an incredible atmosphere, the fight promises to be as electric as the setting. Neither Pryde nor Nace are very familiar with the other, but both are comfortable and confident in their skills.
So where will you be as the moon rises over Manhattan on August 1st? Come on down to Pier 84 on the Hudson River, where the USS Intrepid looms toward the sky and the city lights sparkle to life.
And let Pryde remind you, “The best thing about Rumble on the River — not only is it the best Muay Thai promotion on the east coast, but it’s outdoors…and it’s free!”
*Rain date: 8/2/13 (I will NOT be able to attend the rain date so let's hope this doesn't get rained out on Thursday).
*The event is scheduled to start at 7pm, but we can meet earlier at 6pm to eat dinner at PD O'Hurley's pub which is right across the pier. Or we can go somewhere else that's close by (Daisy May's BBQ, Market Diner, McQuaids, etc...). Please indicate your interest in pre-fight dinner/drinks when you RSVP. Thanks :)
