Let's check out Photoville!

*** There is no need to RSVP "No".  Only RSVP if you plan to attend. ***

PHOTOVILLE is a new Brooklyn-based photo destination, a pop-up village of freight containers transformed into temporary exhibition spaces, which first took place in the summer of 2012. Photoville featured a feisty mix of exhibitions, lectures, hands-on workshops, night-time projections, a photo dog-run, a camera-flower greenhouse, and a summer beer-garden with food trucks that created a photography destination like no other.

At 7pm there will be STORYTELLING BY MEDIASTORM. Brian Storm will present on digital storytelling and the cinematic narrative. Citing work by his production company, Storm will emphasize how storytelling continues to evolve as a result of technological innovations and an expanding media universe.

Because no Village is complete without an area for the community to get together, drink, eat, trade stories, share pictures, and view amazing work!

And to all you foodies out there, we’ve got you covered! In true Brooklyn style, and thanks to the wonderful peeps of #Dispatch NY will be the proud host of an amazing group of food trucks serving up all types of delicious grub.

I enjoyed some of the photos at the exhibit. Some photos were really mind blowing while others filled with intrigue.

Great night all around! Loved the Banana Hammock! The photo exhibit was really interesting, wish I had saw more of it, missed some good things judging by the pics. Got to see quite a bit of Brooklyn Heights for the first time, including that promenade. Thanks everybody!

I really enjoyed this photo exhibit. Some of the containers were very thought provoking. It was a beautiful night too. A little breezy, but lovely! And, oh my goodness, the Salted Crack! Thanks all for coming out to the event!

Very interesting... as with all art, it's very subjective, but nonetheless a surprising experience. My first time seeing so many people, including myself, willingly walk into cargo shipping containers.

I'm sure it was a LOT better than all those times you were dragged into cargo shipping containers that had ugly, art-less walls within. :)

A very unique and creative way of displaying the art. Didn't know there are more containers than I expected so didn't manage to see all of them. Still, got to see the best ones. Giving me insight n ideas how to take better pictures.

First time by Brooklyn Bridge Park and found it to be very nice and the surrounding area. The Photo exhibit was very interesting. But most of all spending time with you all is what makes all worthwhile.
Thanks Lisa and Eddie for making possible and being great hosts.

There were many amazing exhibitions and I think you would need more than one visit to get through everything. I had a really great time with everybody and also at dinner and the promenade after (thanks George). Thank you for organizing this and being a great host Lisa!

We are meeting AT the creamery. The address is not exactly accurate. Keep going past the address towards the entrance to the exhibits and you'll see the shack that is the creamery.

    Lisa,
I am so sorry but I hurt my back at work called out sick. I recognize I am going to have a strike against me, but there is no way I can possibly come out and walk around tonight. My sincere apologies. Very bummed as this would have been my first event with your group.

Hi all! We're going to meet at Ample Hills Creamery (address is below) at Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park at 6 p.m. We will wait until 6:10 and then head in to see the exhibits.

Go to HopStop.com and type in for directions for getting there from where you are coming from to 334 Furman St., Brooklyn. Or go to Google Maps to do the same. Keep in mind that the N and the R have modified service since Sandy, so there are no trains running between Court St, Brooklyn and Whitehall St, Manhattan. So that is not really an option if you are coming from Manhattan, unless you take the Q train to DeKalb and then backtrack on the R train. If you are coming from Brooklyn, you can get to Court Street on the R train. But keep this in mind when figuring timing to get there by 6 p.m.

Email sent with my phone number.

See you all tomorrow! Oh, and don't forget your cameras! :-)

Hey Robin, and all. As per the Photoville website ... Is There a ticket charge?
No! All Events are open to the public and free of charge – however a suggested donation of $3 is encouraged and appreciated to secure the longevity of this community event. Food and beverages will be available for sale through a variety of artisanal food vendors.
