(Free) Greenwich Village Food Tour!

Let's take a food tour in the village!

***Important:  Make your REQUIRED reservation through the website ASAP before spaces run out!  Reservation link at the bottom.***

From Freetoursbyfoot.com:

"Greenwich Village is well-known for its shady, winding streets with 19th Century houses, for its bohemian roots and historic Washington Square Park. But the Village’s tree-lined streets are also lined with some of the best restaurants and food specialty shops in all of the Big Apple. Just ask celebrity chefs of the Food Network, food critics from the New York Times and thousands of New Yorkers: Greenwich Village is THE place to find the best of every cuisine.

Join Free Tours by Foot as we locate the best of the best. You’ll crunch your sweet tooth with scrumptious desserts, indulge in prociutto arancini (rice balls) from a shop 100 years old, eat falafel so good that you will understand why New Yorkers wait in long lines every night at one of the first Middle Eastern establishments in the United States. And in a city known for its pizza, you will try not one but two of the city’s best rated pizzerias.

Sites we cover on the tour:

Mamoums Falafel

Artichoke pizza

Bantum Bagels

Faiccos Rice Balls

Bleeker St Pizza

Sugar & Plumm

and much more!

At the food stops, you will choose what treats you would like to sample (or eat in whole). Try them all or none at all. Unlike other tours that charge around $45 with some excluding food, on this tour, YOU choose what to eat and how much to spend. All recommended items are less than $4. Suggested amount to bring for snacks is $7-10, depending on your appetite! Vegetarian and vegan options available at several shops."

Not sure if I am signed up because I never got the second email to reconfirm. At any rate, I just told Ro I am running behind in my work and need to get those midterms ready for my students so someone can take my place, if indeed I was signed...
    Bon tour et à bientôt!

Does anybody know what subway is closest to the intersection where we suppose to meet?

    January 17, 2014

    • Ro

Jennifer, as with previous events, you can use Hopstop or Google Maps to find up to date directions as well as travel time and cost via public transportation. Thanks.

      2 · January 17, 2014

    • Sanya

You can take the B,C, D, F, E, M trains to the West 4 stop. That's the closest one.

  • Omar

Food! And here I was starting to salivate at the idea of chowing down, but it's sold out! Have fun guys :)

    January 17, 2014

    • Ro

Sorry Omar. I had this posted since last year :P. Maybe next time!

No worries! Have a bite for me ;)

      1 · January 17, 2014

  • Ro

Hi everyone, please read the email I sent this afternoon to everyone who's attending. Also I wanted to suggest that you bring about $30 so that you'll have enough for whatever you decide to eat during the tour + your tip for the tour guide. Remember to get there by 1:20pm before the tour begins because my phone will be off once the tour starts. Thanks, and I'll see you then :)!

    2 · January 17, 2014

  • Yvonne

Hi Ro I'd like to attend but it's sold out on the website.
Do you have any other options for me to go?

    January 17, 2014

    • Ro

Sorry Yvonne, there are no available spots left. These food tours are popular and sell out quickly and it seems that this sold out at least two weeks ago.

      January 17, 2014

  • Ro

I received an email yesterday from Free Tours by Foot asking me to reconfirm my reservation for this Saturday. You should all have gotten that email yesterday as well if you have made a reservation on the site. Make sure you respond back to that email to reconfirm your spot so that they don't give it away to someone else on the standby list. For those who have RSVPd "Yes" and made a reservation but can no longer attend, please let us know so that someone else in the group may take your spot. Thanks.

    • Ivy

Hi guys, Im still going Scott so you can come with me. I also reconfirmed the rsvp with them by replying to their email.

      2 · January 16, 2014

    • Scott

Thanks Ivy. Just was under the weather for the last 2 weeks and got mixed up on what was going on. see all of you tomorrow.

      January 17, 2014

  • Mario

I did not get the email to reconfirm but it shows that I am attending... So I guess it is ok?!?!

    January 14, 2014

    • Wesley

As long as you are on the reservation then you should be Mario. It is likely that the emails were only sent to those who reserved for the tour weeks ago.

    • Ro

Just bring whatever confirmation you got from FTBF when you signed up in case there's any problem.

      January 15, 2014

  • Justin F.

Hi I just made my reservation on the site. Are we all meeting at the Waverly?

    January 13, 2014

    • Ro

Yes the tour start location is stated in the description.

      January 14, 2014

  • Erik

I didn't get an email. Hmmm

    January 13, 2014

    • Wesley

I don't think you get the email if you RSVPed with them recently. It's for those who have RSVPed more than 6 days ago. At least that's what my email says.

      January 13, 2014

  • Ro

I have an extra spot under my name for whoever didn't get to sign up on the website. Email me if you're interested.

Yes, I have reserved & I'm all set to go!

  • Ivy

Hi everyone, I rsvp for the food tour, do I have to do anything else?@

    1 · December 23, 2013

    • Ro

Hi Ivy! You should have gotten a confirmation email right after you registered. Then a week or so before the event, you will get an email from FTBF asking you to re-confirm that you'll be attending, and will probably include the final details of the tour from the actual guide. Thanks!

      December 23, 2013

  • Ro
