EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN KEN'S WALKS, a friendly group of walkers (Over 23,000 Members) mainly featuring WALKS in all the green parts of London (in places you have probably never heard of) and surrounding countryside and coastal towns. Change your life (physical health and mental health) dramatically for the better!!
YOU CAN JOIN KEN'S EVENTS FOR FREE and just pay a contribution for each event attended!!!
THERE IS NO JOINING FEE. INSTEAD FROM JANUARY 1st 2023 THERE WILL BE A COLLECTION OF A £5 CONTRIBUTION FOR EACH WALKING EVENT in LONDON ATTENDED (known as the 'pay as you go' option) OR YOU CAN PURCHASE A KEN'S EVENTS CARD (only £20 for a full 12 months validity from date of purchase, (known as the 'season ticket' and equivalent to only £1.66 pence per month), thus allowing you to save loads of money if you come to more than 4 walks a year!
Social Events: Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. We always end the walk at a pub with a convivial atmosphere where the socialising can continue. Be sure to join us in the pub for the whole experience!

In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy.
The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.

- SCENIC WALK: BEAUTIFUL CANNIZARO PARK and WIMBLEDON COMMONWimbledon, London£5.00
PARKLAND, WOODLAND TRAILS, LAKES, GARDENS, STREAMS, FLOWERS, WILDLIFE. THAMESPATH
A VERY SCENIC WALK through the beautiful Cannizaro Park in full bloom, with its abundant azaleas and rhododendrons and then onto Wimbledon Common and finally New Malden.
WALK START POINT: Wimbledon Station (National Rail, Tramline and District Line - Zone 3). When you arrive at the station look for Ken with Kens Events Flag/badge outside the station.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles.
WALK FINISH: At New Malden Station (National Rail, - Zone 4).
WALK STOPPING OUT POINT: We crossover a few London Bus Routes.

GENERAL RISKS for all WALKS: In the walks in this group we use; country stiles,pavements, cross busy roads, public parkland, paths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and other established paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Wear good sturdy shoes/walking boots. To avoid insects, thorns, and stinging nettles, bare legs are not recommended. Take care as surfaces may be uneven, there may be low branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. - EPPING FOREST WALK - Part 1Theydon Bois, Epping£5.00
A Green Walk through EPPING FOREST and with luck we might even see some bluebells, followed by more socialising with cheap food and drinks in a pub with a convivial atmosphere.
WALK START: Theydon Bois Underground Station (Central Line - Zone 6). When you arrive at the start look for Ken with the Meetup/ 'KEN'S EVENTS' Flag/Sign/Badge.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6.5 miles with some gradients.
WALK ROUTE: Walk through EPPING FOREST from THEYDON BOIS to LOUGHTON .
WALK FINISH: Loughton Underground Station (Central Line - Zone 6).
STOPOUT POINTS: There are no easy stopout points on this walk.

This is part two of our GREEN WALK through EPPING FOREST. This section is from LOUGHTON to HIGHAMS PARK (Station) and CHINGFORD MOUNT (Pub), followed by more socialising with cheap food and drinks in a pub with a convivial atmosphere.

WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles to Higham Park Station and 7 miles to our pub in Chingford Mount. There are some gradients.
WALK ROUTE: Epping Forest, Connaught Water, Whitehall Plain, Highams Park.
WALK FINISH: Higham Park Station (London Overground - Zone 4)/ Chingford Mount High Street.
