NEW YEAR'S DAY PARADE

  • Jan 1, 2014 · 11:45 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

JOIN US from 11.45am onwards for the WORLD'S BIGGEST NEW YEARS PARADE and our FIRST EVENT FOR 2014. Blow away that Hangover from last night! This is not a day for the faint hearted!

Join the greatest annual street parade in London and the World's largest New Year's Day parade. A FREE spectacle in the heart of London to welcome the New Year. The 2013 Parade will be filled with marching bands, cheerleaders, clowns acrobats, giant baloons and much more!

More than 10,000 performers are planning on strutting their stuff at the parade, from American high school marching bands to London hospitals and environmental groups. Highlights include cycling clubs, Morris dancers, the London Fire Brigade, an army of clowns, minis and morris minors, and a whole load of donkeys.

The first official event of 2014 looks forward to a year of celebrations for the London Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, so expect even more in the way of pride and public spirit.

After the parade we will enjoy a late leisurely lunch.

We meet at 11.45 AM in the pub  The pub will provide a handy base from which to enjoy the parade. So you don't have to stay outside the whole time. The pub is on Whitehall less than 100 metres from Nelson's Column on the right hand side (west) with Nelson behind you.

The parade passes down Whitehall so, if you are travelling by underground be sure to surface west of Whitehall particularly if you are late or you run the risk of getting trapped on the wrong side of the parade!

The Parade starts at around 11.45 am on Piccadilly at the junction with Berkeley Street outside the Ritz Hotel and finishes around 3pm at Parliament Street.

1st January 2014 will be the 28th Anniversary of the New Year's Day Parade

The Parade starts at 11.45am on Piccadilly at the junction with Berkeley Street  outside the Ritz Hotel and finishes around 3pm at Parliament Street.

The Parade route is - Piccadilly, Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Parliament Street.

More than 10,000 performers representing 20 countries world-wide will assemble for the 2013 Parade.

More than half a million are expected to pack London's  famous streets to see this fantastic spectacular as it weaves its way along the 2 mile route.

The 2014 Parade will be filled with marching bands, cheerleaders, clowns acrobats, kites and much more!

Stars of the show will be up to 33 stunning entries from each of the London Boroughs and Westminster and the City of London.

It was very wet! I couldn't believe how many of the parade participants were still able to smile. That was the most amazing thing about it. Great groups, marvellous theme. Hopefully it's better weather next year!
