The highlights include:

• Peter Pan

• Two Bears Fountain

• The Wiggly Walk and The Secret Sunken Dutch Garden

• Elfin Oak

• Speke Monument

• Queen Anne's Alcove

• Edward Jenner Statue (smallpox)

• The Orangery

For Guests who don't hold the Ken's Events Membership card there is a £2 fee for this event.

This statue of two embracing bears was put here in 1939 to commemorate 80 years of the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. It promoted temperance - ie not drinking alcohol - as well as providing water for market-bound cattle and horses. The original was stolen but replaced with this recast copy in 1970.

If you've never been to one of Ken's events, now is the time! Apart from meeting nice new people, taking the time to appreciate what London has to offer is a real treat. One of the highlights of last summer's events (and there were many!) was a warm Friday evening walk in June through Primrose Hill and Regents Park. The flower garden in Regents Park was a delight, although just past its best at that time. I would expect Kensington Gardens to be in full bloom by the May Day Bank Holiday, and well worth the visit.
