FANTASTIC! I had no idea that he quit the show twice! Too much pressure, sudden fame, all that crap and the trappings that go along with it, no doubt. I enjoyed hearing him speak so much. I didn't know that Carlton was his mentor earlier in his career. I loved his analogy about people who obtain success in show biz: he said it was like Chinese jump rope, when the two ropes are going at the same time, and you are just standing there posed, ready, anxious to jump in..almost jumping in, almost...not yet...He said he knew many people who were standing there waiting to jump in. He said this appears many times in your lifetime (not just ONCE - which is what a lot of people think) and that the ones that jump in are taking a big leap towards having their dreams realized. He also said he had his dreams realized and then he was miserable, and he explored all this in his scripts of LOST. I adored seeing him and would gladly see any of them speak anywhere. Still my FAVORITE show, ever.

This was an enlightening experience. We learned of the conception of Lost, how it all came together, how massive the production was, how the story was created and Damon's reaction to viewer questions.

We learned how the internet was instrumental to the show's success and the interactivity between writers and the viewers, which Damon said definetely existed and did sway the evolution of the show.

Damon was very insightful about the writing process, and how the vision goes through multiple filters before arriving on screen. It was an inspiring event which has given me some insight into my own writing.

It was a lot of fun, full of applause and laughter (with Damon).
It was great to see fellow NYC Lost members!
