Speak Up: Jim Moran's Gun Violence Forum

From the ARLNow article at:

"Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA-8) has scheduled a community forum to discuss gun violence.

The forum, titled “Preventing Another Newtown: A Conversation on Gun Violence in America,” will feature a panel of experts on gun policy, public safety and mental health issues.

The following guests are slated to attend: Omar Samaha with the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, retired ATF Special Agent David Chipman, Josh Horwitz with the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, City of Alexandria Police Chief Earl Cook, Jonathan Lowy of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and former counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee Karen Marangi.

“From Virginia Tech to Newtown, gun violence has become far too common. Each day, 32 Americans are killed with a firearm. We must improve our laws to prevent the continuation of this horrific trend,” Moran said. “This forum is an opportunity to bring together a diverse panel of experts who will share their thoughts on a comprehensive plan to reduce gun violence. Northern Virginians concerned over gun-related violence are invited to join the conversation.”

Members of the public are welcome to attend the forum, which will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on March 11 in the Washington-Lee High School (1301 N. Stafford Street) auditorium."

Let's show up and explain to Rep. Moran and his panel of anti-gun 'experts' that we won't stand for this sort of cavalier demagoguery and assault on our rights.

Show up around 6:45 and invite friends!

Next time we should plan for something social afterwards :)

Fun. TONS of orange stickers in the audience and questions were mostly from Orange stickered people. Was fun to watch Moran squirm. Loved the "Guns Save Lives" welcome sign holders at the entrance held by Arlington Young Republicans! They rock!

Not what Jimmy was expecting. Almost all questions were from good gun owners. He could not even answer the questions. Channel 4 was there and I know they will spin the truth just like when they all but ignored the half million pro life marchers and led off the next day with a sparsley attended anti gun rally. I'm sure they wrote the script yesterday.

I think the best way to do this is to come incognito and don't sit together and therefore be easily identified. We can raise our hands from different locations and make this joke of a forum look balanced. I'm trying to assemble some people early to plan this. This time I won't be wearing my NRA identification.
