Libertarian Friends,

Election day is here, so make sure to head out to the polls and cast your vote for Liberty!  Also, please make sure to call your liberty-loving friends and loved ones to remind them to vote as well.

We're all aware of Gary Johnson, and I know we'll all be voting for Johnson/Gray for President and VP.  But, what about the other stuff on your ballot?  If you're having trouble making up your mind, LPNOVA has some suggestions for you.  Here they are:

In the City of Alexandria, make sure to vote for Robert Kraus for City Council.  Robert is a long-time Libertarian, and works as Director of Operations for the national party.

There are two proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution on the ballot throughout the state.  LPNOVA suggests that you vote yes on question 1, which is intended to reduce eminent domain abuse in Virginia.  LPNOVA has not taken a position on question 2.

In the counties of Arlington and Fairfax, you'll have four bond questions to vote on.  Not that you need a reminder, but Libertarians should always vote no to more debt. So, please, vote no on all four bond questions.

Unfortunately, there are no Libertarian choices for any of our local congressional races, or for U.S. Senate.  While LPNOVA has not endorsed anyone in any of these races, my PERSONAL suggestion is to consider another third party or independent candidate for Congress.  As for U.S. Senate, the only two choices are absolutely horrible Republican and Democrat candidates.  You couldn't pay me to vote for either of those clowns, so I'll probably write-in a friend's name.... or maybe Mickey Mouse.... or maybe I'll just skip it all together.  One thing is for sure, I will not be voting for Kaine or Allen, and I hope you won't either.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind you to come hang out at LP headquarters in DC for our election night party.  There will be a video link with the Johnson/Gray campaign's party in New Mexico, and a good time will be had by all.  Details can be found at I hope to see you there!

Finally, one last reminder.  LPNOVA's Annual Convention will be held this Saturday in Herndon.  Business begins at 2:00pm, and you should be there.  But, even if you don't want to come out for the business session, you really should join us for drinks, snacks, and fellowship afterwards.  The festivities begin around 6:00pm.  Convention details can be found at  RSVPs are not required, but are helpful.  Just send me an e-mail to let me know you're coming, if possible.  In any case, please join us on Saturday!

Thank you very much for being a part of the Libertarian Party's success this year.

In Liberty,

Matt Cholko
Vice-Chairman, LPNOVA

P.S. - Every year is an election year in Virginia.  So, as this one comes to a close, we need your help to get off to a strong start for 2013.  Won't you please help us with a generous donation of $250, $100, $50, or however much you can spare?  If so, just head on over to and contribute right now!
