Vote for limited government this year.

I wanted to say a quick hello and take a moment to introduce myself to those of you who haven't already met me.  My name is Mike, and I am fed up with our government at every level.  It seems as if all they know how to do is bicker, blame, and waste.  They are VERY good at all three, but none of those are productive in any way, shape, or form.

I first came to realize that I was a Libertarian when I talked to a GOP friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) 4 years ago, asking what he thought of Ron Paul.  I liked what I heard from him, and I liked what I saw from his record.  My friend told me he was "a Libertarian at heart".  At the time, I was getting involved in politics with the GOP, but that sounded like maybe Dr Paul was a 'fake' GOPer.  So I looked up the LP, and I haven't been the same since.  I found a party that actually believes what I believe, so now I don't have to pick the lessor of two evils.  At least, not always.  I desperately want to see smaller government, and decided it's time to get more involved.

As part of my effort towards limiting government waste and shrinking the overall size of government at all levels, I am running for Soos Creek Water and Sewer District Commission Position 1 this year.  While it's not a high profile, high power position, it would provide me the opportunity to get my feet wet (if you'll pardon the pun) and see how the government works from the inside.  If successful, I'd like to use this as a starting point to get into a City or County Council position so I'll be able to more directly affect government, and try to get rid of some positions that aren't proper government functions.

If you live in the Soos Creek Water District, I'd like to invite you to vote with me.  I believe in very limited government, providing very specific functions.  I also believe that that private businesses are more capable than government in nearly any task you can name, and should be utilized more frequently in order to provide better services with lower overall costs.

If you feel the same, please show your support by casting a vote for me in the upcoming primary, and again in the general election this November.

Looking forward to helping you and the other members here have some REAL change we can believe in.
