Crystal did this but decided on it with short notice. I think it's the prefect spot for a practice run for camping and hiking the North Sylamore Creek Trail in October. The terrain on the Wooly Hollow Loop Trail is very much like that on Sylamore, is about 3.5 miles and will take us about an hour and a half to complete. We will Friday night and hike and camp Saturday night and hike Sunday morning. YOU will need to bring your water, food, tent, sleeping bag and any convenience items. There are bathrooms, running water, showers and A vending machine with soft drinks in it.
Go HERE to see the park's website:
WE WILL HIKE at about 9 AM Sat and Sun.
Cost for the night is $13.08. If you want a site you should book it ASAP as they will book up. They require a 2 night stay UNLESS the sites are not booked up by the week of the stay. You will need a card to charge the first night as a non-refundable deposit. They will allow 2 tents and up to 8 people per site. Call[masked] as soon as you can commit, as the spaces are pretty much open NOW.
It's a beautiful part of the state and should be GREAT as a trial run for a longer hike with camping.
