Looking for breastfeeding information and mother-to-mother support?

La Leche League (LLL) has over 50 years of experience helping mothers to breastfeed their babies. All breastfeeding mothers, mothers-to-be, and women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend our free drop-in meetings or to contact our Leaders for free breastfeeding information and support.

Founded in 1956, LLL is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization. The mission of La Leche League International (LLLI) is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother. LLLI is affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and the U.S. Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition. LLLI is also a founding member of the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA).

LLL meetings provide breastfeeding information and mother-to-mother support from accredited LLL Leaders, other nursing mothers, and mothers-to-be. Meetings are open-ended discussions on mothering through breastfeeding and related aspects of birth, nutrition, and parenting.

Mothers-to-be, mothers, grandmothers, babies, and children are always welcome to attend.

LLL Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their children. They are also volunteers and are accredited by LLLI to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. Leaders are available to help in person at meetings, over the phone, and online.

Series meetings for LLL Yonkers take place on the second Wednesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. at the Grinton I. Will Branch of the Yonkers Public Library, Mezzanine Level, 1500 Central Park Avenue (just south of Tuckahoe Road), Yonkers, NY 10701.

Toddler meetings for LLL Yonkers take place on the second Monday of every month at 10:00 a.m. at the Grinton I. Will Branch of the Yonkers Public Library, Mezzanine Level, 1500 Central Park Avenue (just south of Tuckahoe Road), Yonkers, NY 10701.
