This was my first tea meet up and it was a real delight. Suzannah made the most amazing cucumber and cream cheese and egg, cream cheese and mango chutney tea sandwiches; wonderfully created pork pies by another lovely lady(plz forgive, I'm awful with names and so many other yummy teas and treats to try.

Thank you Susannah for the info about the scones. I will still bring some lemon curd and a yummy fruit preserve as The English Rose serves with their scones, plus I'll get some tasty cookies to snack on with our tea. I have an amazing Tevanah tea I buy at Hillsdale tea shop I can also bring, which is supposed to be one of their highly recommends teas for health. See you all there later today. :)

Sandra - Regarding scones, looks like Gladys is bringing them (see comment under RSVP attending list).

I was bringing lemon curd for the scones I saw someone post they were bringing, but now I don't see that post about scones- who was bringing them? If not, I'll check out bringing scones with the lemon curd-
Speaking of which: a lovely restaurant located on Laurel Street in San Carlos called English Rose may interest you, being its all about the old English type of foods, tea pots adorn the tables with their own cozys. Very quaint- they open early and close around 1:30appx. I can call to check on the hours of operation-
How about the yearly held The Great Dicken's Christmas fair at the Cow Palace in San Francisco? It's fantastic abs definitely holds an authentic English theme. Charles Dicken's in character reads from his famous The Christmas Carol. I can tell you a about it this Saturday- ill bring the web page. Nov 23rd-Dec 23Rd ( weekends except for ist Friday of fair ). Hours: 10-7pm

    See you Saturday :) Sandi

    Just allergic to avocados

I appreciate the feedback=) No worries, regarding any suggestions of not including ingredients that anyone is allergic or not agreeable to. In other words, I'd rather know about these things ahead of time, so that I can bring foods that everyone can eat and not have to avoid. I'll bring 2 kinds of tea sandwiches: egg salad with chutney (no curry) and cucumber with cream cheese.

Also, I bought this really cool spice elixir with tumeric and coconut milk to drink that I will bring for anyone who wants to sample. It is supposed to have great health benefits!

I'll whip up some surprise :) (but nothing poisonous of course so I will wait to hear on the allergies front for a decision)

I guess I'll reply to Susannah here, cause when I try to reply to members questions, in the reply section, I don't see a post button, except for in this 'join the conversation' section.
Susannah; Mango chutney sounds wonderful; I'm sorry to appear difficult not doing well with curry, although I'm sure others may enjoy that ingredient. I do appreciate your offering an alternative to the curry; the cucumber Sandwiches sound refreshing. That was kind of you to think of my feelings. Is anyone allergic to nuts or chocolate? I'm asking so when I cloose the fancy special cookies, I want to be certain I don't cause anyone harm.

@Sandra Cole - I can leave out the curry. And are you ok with mango chutney with egg salad, otherwise I'll leave out the chutney.

  • Sandi

Is it possible to leave out the curry? The cucumber or egg salad sounds fine; I get I'll on curry.

I can bring curried egg salad tea sandwiches. Is anyone vegan, if so then let me know, and I'll add some cucumber ones.

Your can just bring yourselves. But if you wish to bring something sweet or savory to snack on its always gratefully eaten! Also if you have a tea that you like very much bring that along to share. I look forward to meeting you!!! See you Saturday. Also just a small warning parking is very tight, I suggest if you cant find something outside drive up to the small side streets by the library and stroll down - its a short walk.

I have the same question as Elizabeth. Is there anything I can bring to help with your tea?
