I'm not sure if I can make this one - however, one of our members - Eileen Kennedy - has graciously invited us to a FREE dress rehearsal for this show. It looks GREAT! I love 1940's music - and this show is full of it!!!
I may or may not be able to go. However, if you would like to go - sign up here, grab a friend - and make arrangements to meet there. To my knowledge, we don't need tickets - I'll let you know if I find out otherwise.
If you can't make the dress rehearsal - the show will run from Wed - Saturday and Sundays on Dec. 7th through Dec. 16th. I'm not sure of ticket prices, but you can find out from the Hendersonville Little Theatre.
Here are the details:
If you love the American Songbook and the 40's era in general,
and want to get into the holiday spirit BIG time, then you are going
to love this one.
Set at the Stage Door Canteen, Hollywood entertainer, "Lieutenant"
Eileen Kennedy, who was Sylvia St. Croix in "Ruthless, the Musical" at the Haskell Opera House in Quebec recently, and the rest of the cast: Andre Ellerby, a towering hit in ACT's "Chicago," Carol Duermit, who is wowing them in "Naughty, But Nice." and Richard Blue, a terrific Edna in ACT's "Hairspray." are giving a USO concert to our enlisted men and women overseas on Christmas Eve.
Think "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney.
Yes, there is even a sing along. Hope to see you at the Canteen! ,
Lieutenant Eileen Kennedy
