Lunch at Writer's Bistro and BARK! at ACT

Let's have lunch at Writer's Bistro in the Renaissance Asheville Hotel - and then go see BARK! the Musical at Asheville Community Theater!

Sounds like fun - especially for dog lovers!

BARK! follows six canine characters for one day at Deena’s Doggie Daycare, and the entire show is presented from a dog’s point of view. BARK! opened in Los Angeles at The Coast Playhouse in 2004 to rave reviews including Critic’s Choice from the Los Angeles Times.  The show went on to play for two years becoming the 3rd longest running show in Los Angeles history.  The memorable songs and dance of BARK! resulted in nominations for Best Musical Score & Best Choreography from the prestigious LA Critics’ Drama Circle Awards.

ACT has started giving me a group rate - so everyone's rate is the same: $22.50 each. (This is a $3.00 savings off the regular rate - and I am adding 50 cents for the Pay Pal fees I am always charged. )

Please RSVP and Pay by January 31, 3013.

Lunch at noon - and show begins at 2:30pm.

I agree with the comments. A delightful show. ACT is a great cultural resource for Asheville.

BARK was absolutely hilarious! Although I will always be a cat lover first, I enjoyed it so much that I'm going to go again. I just have to take my friend (who has 2 dogs) as I know she will love it even more than I did.

I loved this show! Adorable, great music, talented actor/musicians and reminded me so much of my Snowball. :) How wonderful it was to have so many women - regulars and newcomers - and fun to be joined by a member of the cast! Writer's Bistro was a hit - and so convenient to the theatre, we will surely go again.

Bark was a delightful play with a very talented group of actors . Made me laugh and made me cry and get home and hug my pets. Our wonderful group of LWLLT made it all the more enjoyable .

Katie - absolutely! It would be an honor to have a member of the cast with us at lunch! However, please let me know for sure so we can add her to the reservation. Thank you!

Would I be able to invite a guest to lunch? She doesn't need a ticket to the show, though, because she's in the cast. Please let me know. Thanks.

The ticket's for this show have already been purchased. You are welcome to come with us. Just RSVP yes - and then call the Asheville Community Theatre Box Office to buy your own ticket and ask to sit near Donna Cutting's party. Please EVERYONE - if you aren't coming to lunch - let me know in ADVANCE - so we can change the reservations with the restaurant. Thanks!

Catherine - I scheduled this quite a while ago and sent an announcement then. Maybe 2 months ago - with a bunch of other items I scheduled. The announcement you just received is something Meetup.com sends automatically. However, if you would like to join us at this point - you are welcome. Just RSVP yes - and then call the theatre yourself to buy your ticket and ask to sit near Donna Cutting's party. Thanks!

Hi Ladies - I have not bought the tickets yet. Waiting on payment from a few people - will purchase our seats by Feb. 8 (we should still have plenty of time!) - so please pay through the Meetup site by then. Thanks!

I somehow missed this invitation. Is it too late to get in on this?

I saw "Sylvia" (also about a dog) last summer & am curious if this one will be as good.

Just to clarify - the price for this show via the Asheville Community Theatre website is $25.00 regular, $22.00 senior. I'm not sure if their fees have gone up - or if it's just for this show.

However - they are giving me a group rate which basically means that everyone gets the senior rate - The added 50 cents is the fee that PayPal charges me with every transaction. I have covered those fees myself for two years - but as the groups are getting larger, that's getting to pricey for me.

So - the rate for EVERYONE for this particular play is $22.50. Just answering questions I'm getting in email - so the whole group understands. Please pay by Jan. 31rst - if you haven't already - so I can purchase seats in a timely manner.

    Thanks!

Are there any Broadway shows coming to Asheville? I love seeing Broadway shows, with Phantom being the last one I saw in Feb of 2011.

Christa, If you mean Broadway roadshows - we don't have a Performing Arts Center in Asheville. However, many of the plays that are done in the local theatres have been on Broadway at one time. The Flat Rock playhouse is doing Les Miz this year I think.

Thanks for all the great shows coming up! Wonderful way to get the new year started!

Just a note - EVERYONE's RATE is $22.50. The regular rate is $25.00 - because ACT is giving me a group rate now - EVERYONE pays the senior rate. So....Seniors please also pay the $22.50. Thanks! Sorry for the confusion. :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
