Whatever your reasons for wanting to write--for publication, for memoir writing, for self discovery, to leave a legacy for family and friends, for healing, for spiritual journeying or simply because youhave to--we welcome you. If you want to be a writer, the best encouragement and support for that accomplishment is with the help of a writing and critique group.
We are intentionally a small group of ladies who write alone but meet to critique as a group.
Even as lonely scribes, we need to sometimes come out of our caves for help and inspiration in generating the right words, for getting answers, for accountability, for encouragement and stimulating ideas, for sharing accomplishments and for getting and receiving non-biased critiques.
We meet every Saturday afternoon for 3 hours in the Cedar Park/Leander area. Because it is difficult to have a group meeting without attendees, we request that you carefully consider whether you can commit to attending at least two meetings a month; if you cannot, please consider how serious you are about calling yourself a writer. At least once per month you need to present a piece of your writing.
The Ladies-in-Writing are waiting. Come share your creativity and enthusiasm for writing. All skill levels welcome. We primarily do mainstream fiction, non-fiction, and memoir. We do not do critiques for poetry or erotica. We tend to be less helpful with fantasy and sic-fi, but we will try.
