The main goal of Ladies of Gotham is to create a safe space for women to get together and play board/card games. Our group is trans, cis, and genderfluid friendly; it is open and welcome to women of all backgrounds.
Are you new to board gaming? Or maybe a seasoned pro? All levels of experience are welcome! Our meetups will be a chance for members to share their favorite games as well as learn some new ones. This group is a great opportunity to make some new friends over some of the best games out there.
In order to ensure a safe space for you, our anti-harrassment policy is as follows:
Ladies of Gotham Board Gaming is dedicated to providing a harassment-free safe space for all of its members, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of members in any form or from any source, be it from within the group or outside of it.
Members that feel like their experience/safety with the group has been compromised are encouraged to contact the organizer(s) directly. A member of this meetup is entitled to support and help from this group’s organizing team. As well as privacy and confidentiality with any and all issues reported to organizers as the reporting member(s) sees fit.
Members (or organizers) violating this code of conduct may be expelled from the group at the discretion of the group’s organizing team.
(This anti-harassment policy is based on the example policy from the Geek Feminism wiki, created by the Ada Initiative and other volunteers.
Meetups run roughly every other Saturday in a seasonal format. Four events will star a new game each and every fifth event is a free-play event combining all games played in the season leading up to it. Occasional free for all after-work/weeknight meetups will also appear.
