Discuss Mr.Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore

Please join us on on Tuesday, December 17, at 7:30 pm for a lively discussion of Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan. Feel free to bring something to eat or drink for yourself or to share. I will send out my address the night before the meeting. I am in the Castro.

Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore Summary:
The Great Recession has shuffled Clay Jannon away from life as a San Francisco web-design drone and into the aisles of Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. But after a few days on the job, Clay discovers that the store is more curious than either its name or its gnomic owner might suggest. The customers are few, and they never seem to buy anything—instead, they “check out” large, obscure volumes from strange corners of the store. Suspicious, Clay engineers an analysis of the clientele’s behavior, seeking help from his variously talented friends. But when they bring their findings to Mr. Penumbra, they discover the bookstore’s secrets extend far beyond its walls. Rendered with irresistible brio and dazzling intelligence, Robin Sloan's Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore is exactly what it sounds like: an establishment you have to enter and will never want to leave.

Hi there--new to the group, really enjoyed this book and thought it'd be fun to attend. I don't think the details of the location are in here though--can someone send me a message with the actual address? I get the privacy concern but would like to know where I should show up. :)

    Thanks!

Andrea , the organizer, will email her address two or three days before the meetup. I would say keep watching for it. See you then. felicia.

I have had the book on hold for 3 weeks now and haven't been able to get a copy from the library. Guess I'll just listen to everyones opinion and maybe have some reading to enjoy over the holidays (when I'm not watching football :-) ).

Hey Everyone, Sorry I can't make the group I'll be traveling.

Can everyone help me keep your ears open for someone looking to rent 2 rooms in a really great house? My partner and I are officially looking for a new housemate.

    Thanks

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
