Rocky Mountain Family and Fertility Fair

Hello Ladies,

Okay, so I know that this is a bit of a strange meetup, but the more I have been learning about my own fertility- the more I think that each and every woman should be empowered to take charge of their own fertility. (Did you know that women lose over 1,000 eggs every month? Yup. It's rather shocking. I've been learning a ton of information.) So if you are of child bearing age...or know someone who is- have them meet us at RMFC! :)

Here is the really awesome part- for those who are thinking of having a baby in the future...they are offering FREE FERTILITY TESTING! (That's a HUGE HUGE financial savings! They give you a voucher. You get to schedule the testing). This is also an incredible opportunity if you know of a couple who has been trying and doesn't fall within the 6 months of trying (or the year of trying if you are active military) per medical insurance protocol.

All are welcome to come (even if you are done with the thoughts of children)- you can eat lots of free food and come for moral support for those nervous about starting their journey in starting a family (ala....Me. [and maybe others])

Hope to see some of you there. I will DEFINITELY be there (Dear Husband does not have insurance. So FREE is good.) Spread the word to those who might benefit from this family and fertility fair! :)

ALSO- as the doctor told me today. By NO MEANS do you need to be in a relationship to look into your reproductive potential. Check things out now so when you're ready...you'll be ready. And maybe someday you will even having a baby without a partner. Times are a changing. ;)

I just wanted to let you gals know that I don't think this event is going to be particularly entertaining. (That sounds bad, huh?) They will have food and door prizes (gift certificates for restaurants), but it's really just a gathering at the office. I'm in it for the FREE fertility testing (for my husband). However- THIS meetup...should be AWESOME- http://www.meetup.com/Ladies-of...

Ha ha. That's fine. Just happy to meet some gals. Maybe the free fertility testing will come in handy.

Little boy is napping right now, so won't make it at one. Looks like the event is until 3? We'll try to make it. Otherwise I'll aim for my first meetup with you at another time!

:) We're on our way. Probably wont stay terribly long. But I do think it goes until 3 if you are interested in the voucher.

I noticed that you(Deanna) kept posting stuff about fertility. It made me think it might not be a bad thing to look into. Thanks for the meetup and I will see you there.

      What does the testing entail?

A voucher for future sperm testing and a blood test to test a woman's hormones and egg status.

I'm pregnant with #6 right now so I guess this one is not quite for me. Good luck to all the ladies who are trying though! I'd send any fertility I have your way if I could.

Wow! I didn't think anyone would come to this...so I'm SO SO excited to see so much interest already! (Did you know that the male test is $150 alone?)

When I saw the event pop up I knew I had to RSVP. I have PCOS so I am fully aware of the fertility struggle, and my husband has to get his test done soon too! We wanted to get it done off post at first but its so expensive!

Very much so! I love that they are offering FREE testing. In addition, they do accept tricare if you'd like to become a patient of Dr. Magarelli's. He seems to really enjoy working with military families and he just posted this article yesterday on facebook, which I thought was sweet- http://www.kpbs.org/n...

I will be bringing Andrew- in case there are other gentlemen friends who wish to come, as well...they can all be awkward together.
