Nonprofit/Community Engagement Fair

Explore how you want to make an impact in our community.

Who: 48 Local Nonprofits and Community Organizations
What: Volunteer/Community Engagement Fair
When: July 16th, 4-6 PM
Where: Colorado Technical University
4435 N. Chestnut Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80907

Why: Our local nonprofit community needs our help! On Wednesday July 16th, 2014 from 4-6 PM, 35+ nonprofits are coming together to share their knowledge and passion about the many different ways that we can give back to the Pikes Peak Region. This event gives the opportunity for the Colorado Springs Business Journal Nonprofit directory come to life…to jump off the page and pull our community in. Our hope is to provide a platform to open eyes and open hearts; to ignite desire and interest; and connect awesome organizations with awesome people.

We have also invited our food truck community! Gypsy Pizzeria, The Springs Cupcake Truck, The Crepe Caper and Kona Hawaiian Ice.

There will be rescue dogs. Cupcakes and dogs?! Does it get any better? I tried to find a bacon food truck, but alas…no such luck. So we will have to be happy with pizza and cucpakes. I think we will be okay.)

Sorry to back out of this at the last minute, but the weather is horrible, I just got soaked closing the door & windows, and they mentioned hail, and it is hailing a little now. I lost my Jeep from hail in 2012, so I'm staying home, I don't want to risk another beating from this stuff. Too bad, I really wanted to go to this, but I just can't risk losing another vehicle to hail. Yep, it's hailing, my patio is all white.

I am a new member, this will be my first event and
I am really excited to meet some lively ladies. I have
Also been looking at volunteering work, but didn't
Know where to look. Perfect timing.

Hi All! Anyone willing to be the contact for this event? As I am planning and executing the event- I will have my hands full. I hope I can stop and have a cupcake with my favorite ladies though. :)

This is exactly what I've been looking for and didn't know it. I've looked into doing some volunteer work, but didn't know what all was out there, except Care & Share, so this is a great way to find out, and I LOVE pizza! Cupcakes are pretty great too, if they're chocolate, so I'm all for it. So how do we do these things, do we go early, or just show up when it starts? How does this meetup stuff work, this will be my first one.

This looks great! I've been wondering where/how to get involved. I'll have to hook up with you there since I'll be coming from work and a bit late. See you then/there!
