A recent UCLA study found that women need "me time" and to be with other "like-minded" women to help alleviate stress, if they are to be productive in their everyday lives. However, guilt sets in when they leave those busy lives to obtain the time they so desperately need to rejuvenate.

The Ladies of the Lake Crafter’s Club   (LOL) was created to support women in the revitalization process. Creating a useful craft, card, scrapbook page, wreath, or other craft item eliminates the guilt most women experience when attempting to find that regenerating "me time". With the completion of a unique item to take back and share with the family, time is not “wasted” and visiting with others is acheived.

The goal in starting this club is selfish. Teaching is in my blood and learning new techniques to educate others is my life goal. But what good is leaning a new skill if others cannot benefit as well? Established in October 2003, The Craft Room was created out of necessity, and has been our “crafting home” for many years. The room is stocked with any tool, embossing folder, Cricut cartridge, computer, punch or kiln you could ever desire. This eleminates the burden of members packing and unpacking heavy tools they might or might not need for a crafting experience. Bringing heavy tool kits would defeat the purpose of "relaxing".

Our group has developed many friendships along the way and established a loose knit creative group open to anyone. A small “daily use” fee is required to maintain the heating, AC, keep the stamp pads full and lights on.
