LadyCoders Boulder Bootcamp

LadyCoders Boulder is putting on a 2-day Bootcamp designed to take your tech career to the highest levels. LadyCoders brings the sharpest minds of the tech industry to you and gives you the tools to advance your career. Dream of working for the best? Make it a reality.

For full details, see our website: http://ladycodersboulder.com

Cost: Free
Thanks to our generous sponsors (THANK YOU!), we are now able to make the bootcamp free to attendees. Please sign-up soon. We have limited seating, and need to plan accordingly.

The seminar will include:

  • Mock technical interviews from Spotify
  • Advice from local recruiters and hiring managers
  • Perspectives from women at the top of their field
  • A tour of Google's office, including insight from current employees
  • Foundational knowledge to start your own company
  • Happy Hour with local companies looking to hire YOU

At the end of the two days you will walk away knowing:

  • How to be in the drivers seat of your career
  • How to ace a white board technical interview
  • How to negotiate an offer
  • How to ask for a raise
  • When and how to talk maternity leave
  • Your intellectual property rights as a coder and freelancer
  • How to build a Start-up

    Who should attend?
  • Women with a technical background who want to advance their career.

    Recent Graduates
College rarely teaches you the skills you need to land the job. Meet real recruiters, see first-hand what they are looking for in candidates, and learn how to ace the interview process. You will gain invaluabe career information that you will take with you throughout your entire career. This truly is the class you didn't get in college.

    Professionals Mid-Career
Sometimes we are the passenger and sometimes we are the driver. Being in the middle of your career comes with its own unique set of issues -- juggling life and career, office politics, wanting to feel fulfilled, wondering what your next step is and how to get there. LadyCoders Boulder puts you in the driver seat, so that you are asking for that raise, you are finding the exciting work, you are taking risks and you are excited to go in the office each day.

    Returning to Workforce
We have met so many women who coded 10, 15, 20 years ago, but had to leave for personal reasons, and are ready to come back. WELCOME! We know the transition back can be tough, and LadyCoders Boulder is here to ease the transition. We will help you build back up your resume, address an absence, teach you the interviewing techniques now employed and introduce you to the local companies hiring. It also helps to have a community -- and that's what we are here to do, give you the tools you need and the community to have the career you want, now.

    Everyone
LadyCoders isn't just for women-- even if our name and language gives you that impression. Anyone who wants to develop and further their career in technology is welcome!

Hi, Ladies (and David and Dario), I took the leap per Elaine's suggestion and made the cut for the "Pitch to Developers" Meetup at Scrib in Boulder (2060 North Broadway Street -- lower level) on Tuesday, May 14th, at 6 pm. Please email me if you are going to attend so I can be sure to say "hi!" There should be food and beer and some great opportunities -- including the makeena opportunity!

I left Ladycoders Bootcamp with knowledge and skills to take actionable steps in my career. Thanks so much for putting this event together!

This event was absolutely amazing with a great group of speakers covering a wide variety of topics, excellent food, and great people to make new friends and contacts. Elaine did such a great job with everything, I'm still amazed at how much I learned and felt recharged after the weekend. Easily one of the best conferences/bootcamps I've ever attended!

Fantastic! I learned so much and networked with fabulous women.

Elaine did a Great Job! Big "Shout-Out" to her. The bootcamp had a diverse schedule of
topics and excellent speakers. The sources for information and coding related sites cited by the speakers was/is very valuable to me. I liked the tour of Google, the goodie bag and yummy food. Also, the "happy hour" events too. This past wkend was a rare event in Boulder to network w/other women in the local tech community. I really appreciated the opportunity. Elaine, Thank You so much for your work! PS: It would have helped alot, if "all the speakers" could used the mike while presenting. It was so difficult to hear them, from the back of the room.

I would also like to thank Elaine and the amazing women of the group for sharing your views and career goals. The guest speakers were amazing and spot on! I learned a lot.

I came to the meeting to learn more about women in STEM and to find out what types of hurdles and roadblocks my daughter Rachel is going to have to deal with as she progresses thru her adventure at usmma.org (US military academy) as she starts her education and career as a maritime engineer. Her biggest advice that she gave to me after her graduation from Broomfield High School was to be "present and engaged" and by doing this you can handle anything that gets thrown at you ..... That was amazing coming from a 17 year old.

    2 · May 7, 2013

    • David

FYI - USMMA class of 2016 was 44 women and 300 men in the freshman class. Rachel is in 1stCo with 70 men and 8 women .... wow!

Kit, I could share a spot with you and attend only on Sunday if you like.

    April 30, 2013

    • Elaine

Megan that is totally fine. At least 2 ladies can only attend Saturday, so that should open up a spot for others. Thanks for letting me know!

      May 2, 2013

  • Megan H

I have a seat but cannot attend the Saturday festivities (only the sunday ones) if someone wants to go Saturday in my place. (and if that arrangement is okay with Elaine)

    May 2, 2013

  • Geri

I Have to travel this weekend for work. Really disappointed to have to miss but someone will be happy to have my spot.

    April 30, 2013

  • Kit D.

If someone on the waitlist can only attend on Sunday, I can only attend on Saturday. might be a good way to share a spot, if one becomes available. I'm not a "coder" but love technology. I am interested in the advice on staying healthy when we spend so much time sitting at the computer, and also --being around confident people (men or women) is always a "high". It motivates me to push myself outside my comfort zone!

    April 30, 2013

  • Michelle H.

So, so disappointed to have to change my attendance for this event. I suspect it will be wonderful! I am sorry to miss out! Hopefully a waitlist woman will really benefit :-) (as a side note, there are 2 men registered?)
